In this workshop you will learn how to create a stunning professional lampshade with your own fabric. There are size options to choose from and a choice of a white interior or matt metallic copper inside for some of them. A 20cm drum shade is ideal for a table lamp or a small single bedroom for example as a ceiling pendant light for a small room/loo. A 30cm drum is ideal for most table lamps or as a ceiling pendant light. A 40cm drum shade is ideal for either a standard lamp, a ceiling pendant for a large room or for a large table lamp. A 40cm Empire shape lampshade is deeper than the drums and it has a gentle slope to the sides. This one is perfect for a standard lamp or a large lamp only. All you need to do is choose and bring along your own fabric. You could recycle some curtains for example or go fabric shopping. A medium weight printed cotton, calico or velvet works very well. You could also use a light weight printed cotton. Just nothing with a stretch to it. Silk is extremely tricky and upholstery fabric is too thick. We can iron it and cut it to size on the day. Below is a list of the size of fabric that you will need for each shade: 20cm drum shade = 80cm wide x 30cm depth 30cm drum shade = 110cm wide x 35cm depth 40cm drum shade = 140cm wide x 40cm depth 40cm empire shade = 135cm wide x 51cm depth.
